Offering quite a rare find for the collector of older composition dolls . This is doll is "Maiden America" see photo of original label . The doll is listed in "Collector's Encyclopedia of American Compositon Dolls" by Ursula Mertz p.323. She was made by the Maiden America toy mfg co nyc She stands 8" tall all composition , jointed only at shoulders (loose),painted blue eyes, molded brown hair in topknot & closed mouth . She is not wearing the original red,white and blue ribbon but instead a vintage (probably period) dress . She has generalized crazing Lifting of composition noted at top knot and bottom of feet Paper label at bottom of feet is clean and easily readable The way her head & the hands are molded is just adorable !
