A 19th Century Copeland & Garrett Late Spode Plate Finely Painted with Birds, Flowers and Fruit C1835-40 Item description The plate with shaped rim with rococo scroll moulding. Three panels edged with gilt scrollwork finely painted with birds, flowers including roses, convolvulus etc and Summer fruits reserved on a pale blue ground, the rim moulding picked out in gold and a gold central 'star'. Marks Printed Copeland & Garrett mark in puce. 5127 in red. Impressed 'P' within a circle. Condition Some general discolouration to the blue ground. Some scuffs to the plate decoration due to rubbing (see photo 7). 2 chips to footrim (see photo 6). Minor wear to gilt decoration. Wear to the central gilt 'star'. No other damage or restoration.
