The sterling ends are marked with the Birmingham, England assay mark of an anchor, lion passant for "Sterling Silver" and the year mark of a small "b" for 1901. Both ends are also stamped with the silver smiths hallmark, though it's not real legible. This pretty crystal piece measures approx. 3" x 1" and appears to be a combination of cut and mold-blown or pressed glass. Over-all, this crystal knife rest is in very good condition, with a few tiny fleabites & very tiny dings on the ends (see photos below). Without a magnifying glass, they aren't very apparent. The center is decorated with a strawberry diamond pattern. Also available is a larger version of this same knife rest. Buy two and one ships for free! The blank from which this was created is of a white clear quality. It has been very well cared for, having come from an exclusive estate in Scottsdale, where, since 1969, the previous owner had amassed a large collection of fine crystal/glass knife rests (his log number for this piece remains on the dot sticker). Multiple photos below are from many different angles, as well as various lighting situations, yet the photos don't convey the beauty of this knife read more
