This doll was made in Germany by J. D. Kestner Co. in early 1900's (indicated by facial features). We have been told she is called: Unique Dolly Face. Bisque socket head; ridged and feathered eyebrows; glass eyes; open mouth with teeth; chubby cheeks; mohair wig. Wiggles on ball jointed composition body; 32" tall. Marked - Made in Germany on lower back. On back of head reads: Made in Germany JDK 214The body was cleaned and painted (unfortunately) in excellent condition. Information on doll may be found in "200 Years of Dolls - 3rd Edition" by Dawn Herlocker. She came to us in a homemade dress in poor condition however I will send it along with the doll. I made the dress, slip and bloomers she is wearing. She is a very sweet doll. My aunt had a doll just like this given to her on her 6th birthday in 1912. Questions? I'll do my best.
