This is a pewter flagon, also known as a tankard that is dated 1765. It is German and has a flared bottom with a thumb-hold bearing a face on the hinged lid. It measures 4-3/4" in diameter at the base and is 10-3/4" tall. There is an inscription on the front that reads, "HOCH ZEIT GABE VON TO: FLE: GABET DEM G:F:". I am not sure of the translation. The inscription is surrounded by hand scribed laurel leaves and has some other floral wigglework as well as several bands. There are some touch marks on the handle - the one on the left appears to be two crossed swords with a crown above them and the one on the right looks like 4
