This is a gem of a piece. This large necklace is all hand made, hand tooled, and beautifully well crafted. The middle symbol, so we were told, has to do with courage on the battlefield. This necklace is in excellent shape, showing hardly any wear, especially considering its age. There are no deep scratches, very little surface scratches, no scuffs, no damage, and everything on the piece is original. Every part of it is handmade as well, down to the links and findings on the chain. The feathers measure 3 1/8" long x 5/8" wide. The center piece with the symbols on it measure 2 1/4" long x 1 1/2" wide at the widest part. The necklace itself measures 22" long and then has a 5 1/2" drop. The necklace weighs 69.2 grams. Made of sterling silver and marked with a symbol for the artist. This piece has a lovely patina, we haven't cleaned it up a bit, and I wouldn't recommend it. This piece was made at a time when silver was probably only a dollar an ounce--you don't see big heavy pieces like this anymore. Each link and part of the necklace is nice and not flimsy at all. A comparable piece to this would be something in the $800 range.
