Antique Demon ? Gothic Face Match Holder Wall Pocket I think this piece is made of brass or bronze as it is heavy and nonmagnetic. T are no marks that I can see. I would estimate that this piece is at least 100 years old but could be much older. I believe it was intended to hold matches. It is about 7 1/2 inches tall by about 3 3/8 inches wide. The pocket projects about 1 7/8 inches from the surface of the back plate. No reserve.....
