Up for auction is a gorgeous engagement style ring. It is size 7 and ¼. The diamond is white and clear with no discernible yellow. It came from my mother’s antique jewelry business, and although I do not know it’s exact age I know that she dealt primarily in jewelry from the late 1800s to the 1930s.The winning bidder will receive a recent appraisal from the Diamond Den in Macomb, Illinois which states that the retail replacement price for the ring is $1,950.00. The statement of the appraisal is as follows:“One ladies diamond ring. The 18K white gold vintage style ring, with 2mm shank and domed filigree octagonal plate in the center, is set with one Old European cut diamond with 6 prongs. The diamond measures approximately 4.5 X 3.2mm; the estimated weight is 0.39 carat. The color grade is I, the clarity grade is VS1, and the cut is Old European, with small table, high crown and open culet. On each shoulder of the ring are 2 square faceted blue sapphires in bezel setting. The ring is in good general condition.
