This porcelain chocolatecup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Donath studio in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 3/4 inches high, not counting the handle. The handle on the cup is ornate and sweeps up above the rim of the cup. The cup and saucer are entirely hand painted and gilded. T are reserves containing Watteau scenes with courting couples. They are framed by fancy gilding. The gilding on both pieces is very ornate and extensive. Condition: T is a painted over chip on the foot of the cup. T is minor wear to the gilding w the cup sits.
