I am pleased to offer this DOOR OF HOPE DOLL I found in an old Pittsburgh, Pa. estate. Everything in this house was old and in relatively good condition. This is one of two I'll be listing. These dolls began to be made in the early 1900's when missionaries were in China. Hands and shoes were added to them around 1915 and production of them basically stopped around 1937. I had an expert look at them for me today as I had no idea what they were, but knew enough that they were unusual and I had never seen ones like them before. This one is the Man who is 23 1/2" tall. He has a cloth body and is stuffed with straw. There are also wires I can feel in the arms and the fingers are extremely long. He is wearing a straw hat over the yellow painted face. The jacket he is wearing is satin of gold, blue, black and pink colors. The cumberbund is black with gold leaves. Shorter satin pants match the jacket. There are wool socks and felt slipper with felt fringe. I can find no tears in the clothing and he is in remarkably great condition. This is a One-Of-A-Kind doll so and look at the woman Door of Hope Doll I found with him. Shipping FREE Start $95.99 NR ANTIQUE DOOR OF HOPE DOLL 23"STRAW FILLED ORIENTAL MAN
