This wonderful antique set of drafting tools are housed in their original brass and mother of pearl inlayed mahogany box. The box is fitted with a velvet lined wood tray for the tools above a storage compartment below. The padded panel under the lid folds down to store papers( paper band torn).Of the 26+ pieces in the set, 6 of the items are ivory , an 8" rule, a lead case and 4 ivory handled instruments. The set seems original with the possible exception of 3 pieces. These 3 pieces(black handles) are marked T.A. & Sons with the last patent date being May 7, '95. I would think the rest of the set is a bit older, and is unmarked. Under the tray t are a few assorted objects. The 2 protractors are 19th century, the yellow rule is 1917, unsure of the other things. The set is in very good working condition. It could stand to be cleaned. The box is also in good shape with a veneer chip inside the lid rim. The box does not close completely, I do not have the key. The ribbon that used to assist in lifting out the tray has worn away. It's easy to replace, you will probably want to do that. This is a nice set, beautifully presented. Please feel free to ask questions if you have them.
