ANTIQUE CAST METAL DUVERDREY & BLOQUEL FIGURAL ALARM CLOCK ! Antique French cast metal figural clock with a charming design of a Dutch Boy and a Grandfather clock. Villon, Duverdrey & Bloquel were located in St.-Nicolas-d'Aliermont, France. Saint Niicholas counted 8 production shops and 27 on the eve of the French revolution. In 1896, Villon associated himself with Paul Duverdrey and Joseph Bloquel and the three of them created the company known as Albert Villon, Duverdrey et Bloquel which operated under that name until Villons death in 1902. It was then renamed Duverdrey & Blouquel until 1928 when the brand name of Bayard was added...chosen in reference to a character of French history known as the Chevalier de Bayard who was without fear. Our clock carries just the name of Duverdrey & Blouquel, helping us date it to after 1902 but prior to 1928. Cast metal case is in good, vintage condition with some age patina noted throughout. Additionally, we note the thumb is missing from the right hand of the boy as he is reaching up the side of the clock. Balance of the figural is in fine condition with fabulous bronze tones and color...this may be a bronze casting with a white metal base...metal is not our area of expertise...it does have the weight of a quality piece. Glass dial cover is in fine condition with no chips or cracks. Clear
