Another awesome antique sports collectible from HAMMER SPORTS RELICS ! Here we have a pair of awesome early 1900's quilted and reeded football pants! The pants are made of canvas and date to around 1900 / 1910. In the 1890's, they used quilted pants to play football. Then, they went to a quilted and reeded mix. That is what we have here. All the reeds are intact. There is a couple that are peeking out from tiny holes but these could be fixed with 1 stitch or left alone. All the belt loops are still there. The draw strings are very old metal tip style but we're not sure if they are the originals. A few of the lacing grommets are missing. Marked on the inside of the pants is NO. 0108 (could mean Jan, 1908) and the size 32. There are no visible makers marks. The pants show a little bit of gridiron battle dirt but overall condition is very good! For reference only, we added a scan from a 1907 football team photo where you can see a pair of pants just like these.
