DESCRIPTION: Singed in the lower right hand corner “Edmund D. Lewis, 1898,” this large original watercolor painting depicts Indian Rock on Narragansett Bay. I’m confused, but just under the signature are the hand written letters “CFFET.” This large watercolor measures 21 inches by 29 ½ inches and comes framed under glass with a triple matte and a 29 ¼ inch by 37 ¼ inch contemporary metal frame. There are a couple of very light, tiny spots just above the sailboat and although difficult to see there are some light ripples to the paper. The rest of this large, original Rhode Island Watercolor is perfect and there have never been any repairs. Edmund Darth Lewis (1835 1910) was a member of the National Academy of Design, the Boston Art Club and the Brooklyn Art Association, as well as others. .....
