COLLECTIBLE-EXPRESS PROUDLY PRESENTS ANTIQUE ENGLISH BULLDOG CAST IRON DOORSTOP *************** THE REAL DEAL! We're pleased to present you with an antique English Bulldog Cast Iron Doorstop. This is an authentic, full bodied, two piece dog, NOT a reproduction. T is no hallmark or stamp on the piece, so I cannot say with any certainty whether or not it's a Hubley - but it certainly has that authentic patina, and the obvious age. He's 5 1/2 inches long by 4 3/4 inches long by roughly 4 1/4 inches wide. Weighs in at 3 pounds.This dog is beautifully detailed, with great definition lines about the head and jowls. The musculature is also well defined, showing off that powerful four on the floor fierce stance bulldogs are so well known for. As for coloring, he's a strong brown towards the haunches, graduating to a lighter cream color at the ribs and chest, with a pinkish color peeking out from the jowls. The flat head screw on the left side of the body is completely painted over, and I made no attempt to disturb it. I'm sure you have noticed all of the areas of paint loss. Even so, this is a handsome specimen, and is a fairly hard to find item. It would make a great addition to anyones collection, not to mention a fine Xmas gift.
