Antique Ernst Plank Magic LanternYou are viewing an antique 19th Century Ernst Plank German kerosene magic lantern & a lot of 59 antique glass slides. The lantern itself shows signs of wear and age: scratches on finish, rust, etc. (view photos for details) but is overall in great condition. I believe the lantern is missing an original piece; the brass chimney that extends from the top of the kerosene canister. Other than that, all pieces are still in tact. Original glass lenses, brass & tin body, wood base. The condition of the slides are from fair to excellent condition. Some no longer have their paper border around them, exposing glass edges, and more so than not, some slides' pristine paper finish remains. Few of the slides' images are worn, scratched, or unrecognizable in some spots; the rest remain clearly detailed, colorful, and vivid. (see photos for detail). Subjects of the slides range from landscapes, to animals, to people and leaders, to little stories.
