This box is three pieces. The top, the bottom and a middle insert that fits snugly into the bottom. The top cover features a woman with an exosed breast tending to her hair. Under the middle piece is a hand-painted erotic scene of a man and a woman touching each other. On the inside bottom t is a glued in print of a similar scene. The handpainted images has superb detail and attractive backdrops.The box is papier mache, painted and then laquered. It is in very good condition. The interior painted scene is in remarkable condition. Barely any crackle. The outside portrait is crackled and is age spotted near the lower right edge. The white exposes w tiny bits of paint are missing. This area is not flaking or at actively at risk. All pieces are sturdy. The top as five dings to the top edge. I would characterize these as minor. The insert has some scarring on the side surface. This box is so fabulous, these minor details are inconsequential in my opinion.The outside diameter is 1/4". Please see two other papier mache snuff boxes with miniature erotic scenes that I am currently listing. The outside diameter is 3 1/4".
