For your consideration and listed without reserve... I present these lovely and antique Pomona Art Glass punch cups - a set of 8. These cups are first-grind pieces, manufactured by The New England Glass Company between 1886-1888. The body of each cup is a faint frosted amber and the upper rims is a faint and iridescent amber. Each measures 2.5" x 2.25" and all are in excellent condition. The New England Glass Company offered the Pomona series beginning in 1885. The first-grind time frame took place between April 1885 to June 1886. The first-grind process entailed the cutting of a wax surface on the glass with an acid dip. The second-grind process from 1886-1888 was a more efficient and less expensive acid etching production method. I am not a glass expert, so if you have any questions about this piece, I will do my best to answer them. The information above was obtained from the person I acquired the glass from and is the only information I have. This piece would make an excellent addition to any art glass collection. Thank you for looking and best of luck!
