Antique Steamer Trunk Rauchback & Goldsmith Co R & G Everwear Trunks Office & Factory -Newark , N.J. Circa 1910 CT Shoreline Estate Sale Purchase This is a beautiful antique steamer trunk! Its original R & G Everwear Co. Trunks metal label is affixed to the top - see picture. Professional restored, clean and solid with a working lock and key that easily locks and opens. The lid opens and shuts without hanging up. The handles had been replaced. With all of its metal (the corners, edge brackets, lock, etc) being sealed instead of being repainted, it shows some original paint which enhances its charm and character. It is made of pine wood with ash wood slats. Leather trim is on the top and front. The bottom was covered in tin and painted black.Round felt pads were placed on the bottom edge brackets, so it will not mark your floor. In my opinion it is a beautiful piece of furniture in very good condition. Approx. measurements: 35" long x 21" wide and 13" tall. Its interior had been relined with period wallpaper and a lovely print of a toddler looking up at tree branch with a robin’s nest with eggs in it. It will make a great coffee table or will look wonderful at the foot of a bed, providing extra storage as well.. This is one item you will treasure and can and will want to pass down to another in your family. Shipping with insurance
