Antique Free-Blown Glass Font Lamp with Blown Glass Base,, c. 1820-1835. This small lamp is very attractive with a free blown light bulb font joined to a blown glass standard and base. The not perfectly round shape of the font and the rough pontil to the base, both show the early manufacture. This is an early blown glass whale oil lamp. The collar and burner that go with this lamp are missing, but this is worth adding both to due to the early age. This type of blown toy glass lamp were manufactured at the Sandwich Glass factory, as well as other American glass houses of the same period. Because of it's small size, quality manufacture and the unique rough pontil to the base, this is a rare little lamp. This lamp is offered with no reserve and a Buy It Now. DIMENSIONS: The lamp measures 5 7/8" H. x 3 3/8" Dia at the font, x 3 11/16" Dia. at the base. CONDITION: The lamp is in very good condition with some minor wear to the base. The lamp is missing it's collar and burner. There are also the imperfections often found in early flint glass of this period. This includes, bubbles, sand, and striations.
