DESCRIPTION Antique French Art Deco Liquor Cabinet / Cocktail Bar / Buffet / Sideboard ~ This is a magnificent piece of French furniture dating from the 1930s. It's exquisitely rendered in tiger oak with a superb banded inlay that shows off the grain and tone of the oak to perfection. This lovely thing stands tall on elegant legs joining the lower cabinet, which consists of three cupboards and a handy array of drawers down the center. Keys and locks, so if you want to use this as a bar, it's a simple matter to keep the beverages away from the little ones. The lower chest is topped with a huge slab of white Carrera marble. It has none of the typical rust stains we usually find on this pristine marble from Italy and it's in grand shape. Two features of this luscious marble top tell us it was not originally with this piece: t are well filled and hidden attachment holes near the back on both sides and it has a little well in the front to catch rolling things . . . perhaps in this case, it can catch olives and cocktail onions. It's lush marble and perfect with this piece, lending a softness to the cabinet that we find particularly appealing. The upper cabinet is divine.
