This is a fine example of a model 1831 French artillery sword with the scabbard. It has an overall length of 25". It was manufactured in Chatellerault, France. It has beautiful cursive writing at the base of the sword with is a rare find. I believe it says it was made in 1842. The number on the scabbard (433) does not match the sword (762). The scabbard tip is slightly bent so the sword does not completely go in all the way. There is about a 1/4 inch gap when the sword is inserted. Please refer to the pictures.
