This is a French MF Signal or Poacher's Cannon. Found recently at a Maine Estate. Cast iron body. Uses blank cartridges. The mechanism functions smoothly and I guarantee it to work. The firing pin draws back and sets, and the ring (upon being pulled by hand or a trip wire) flicks the lever and releases the firing pin. The last two photos show the firing pin cocked and the firing pin released after being tripped. Please see all detailed pictures. I will try to answer any questions you may have.
