Antique French Victorian NORMANDY LACE Embroidery Oval Boudoir Pillow 25" x 20"Purchased this many many years ago. In beautiful condition as this lace is very delicate. There are a few issues particularly on the backside (several holes in netting) but please see all pictures as they are part of the description. Sold "as is" in vintage condition.Fun fact: Normandy lace is a patchwork of many different types of old laces and embroideries. Made during, or shortly after WWI. The bombing and burning of the flax fields during the war, caused a shortage of the linen thread that was needed to make lace.Belgian lacemakers had to salvage and repurpose old laces - both handmade and machine-made. You can see scraps of hand-embroidered linen, handmade needle-run lace on net, and machine-made Valenciennes edging.Silky white insert pillow can be removed.-221665
