This is an Antique Handmade French Metal and Wire Baguette Basket from Frederick, Marylandm circa late 1800s. The wire and metal woven basket would have been used on the table to hold freshly baked French Baguette. The antique wire and metal basket has a classic basket weave only it is done with thin wire rods and thin flat metal to resemble wicker splints. The basket has a classic French Boat Shape for holding the baguette. The Antique Handmade French Basket has different weaves that add charm and character to this beautiful metal and wire baguette basket. This is a very artist and very well made basket. The Antique Baguette French Wire and Metal Basket has a nice aged patina and is strong and solid. The Antique Basket is in excellent condition. The Antique Handmade French Metal and Wire Baguette Basket measures 17 1/2 inches long and is 5 1/4 inches wide and 2 1/2 inches high. The basket is heavy in weight and is 1 1/4 pounds
