A quality solid silver dating to Birmingham 1911 round vesta case, these marks are clear to read and situated on the rim of the inside, also there is a shield with Ld which I take is the maker. Also on the outside of the case there is a lion stamp and m dating it again to Birmingham 1911. On the other side inside the rim it has a rd no 4067 with two other marks that I cannot read. The case opens and closes with no problems, hinge is good, it is made with the striker at the bottom and has a side silver ring to suspend it. All in good condition with a hammered effect which looks like a golf ball. Measures 4.7cms and weighs 20.6grms. The above description does not suggest this is in fact a ball, it has a dimpled effect like a golf ball but not a ball.
