Antique George Jones & Son, Abbey 1790 pattern, English Make Teapot with lid. Flow blue transferware with scenes of buildings. Measures approximately 5" tall and 8" from spout to handle. Teapot holds 36 oz. This lovely teapot has a nick on the underside of the lid and also a couple on the bottom ring as seen in photos. It also has some crazing on the lid but to be expected on a piece of its age. Fortunately, none of these take away the beauty of this piece . This same teapot sells for $400 elsewhere.GEORGE JONES AND SONS manufactured the Abbey pattern from 1901 - 1921. Previously it was known as Abby Wreath and had been produced by William Adams in the 1840's. The pattern was purchased by George Jones in 1861.
