Greetings! Available for sale is a full size antique German violin.It's HistoryThis violin is part of a total collection of 10 that came from an antique shop in Maine. I purchased it from an elderly gentleman whose brother owned the shop. This is one of 3 that are listed this week on eBay. The Violin Itself It has a label inside that reads COPY OF ANTONIUS STRADIVARIUS MADE IN GERMANY. It measures just over 23 inches long. It is well set up with what I believe is an ebony fingerboard (I say that because it is not completely black-you can see more of a wooden color up where the fingers are placed on the strings which gives it a rosewood look. There is a rosewood tailpiece, a chin rest, and a full set of strings. It uses a complete but mismatched set of tuning pegs. It has fine tuning knobs on all of 4 of its strings. The front has a nice grain to it that you can feel along the edges of the top and bottom of the face. There are many nicks and scratches in the front, which adds to its character. The scroll is nicely carved. The back is 2 pieces SEE PIC. Purfling is inlaid around the front and back edges. The sound post is intact inside the piece.
