This lot includes two small antique German bisque dolls. The larger one is a 7" Belton-type with a French-type face and a solid dome head. She is marked 1 1/2 on the back of her head. Her body is wood and her limbs are composition/papier mache with black and gold 1-strap painted shoes. She has large dark brown paperweight eyes and a replaced antique mohair skin wig. Her clothes and ribbons are all original. There is a bit of light wear to her limbs and the back close of her dress at her neck has come unstitched. This will just take a couple of stitches to fix if the winning bidder wishes to do so. Otherwise she is in excellent condition. The smaller doll is 3 1/2" tall and could be either German or French. She is marked with an oval shape which has writing inside of it that is now to faint to make out. She is on a 5-piece jointed composition/papier mache body with painted black heeled boots. Her black net dress is original and she wears a replaced mohair with with an antique black silk ribbon. There is some paint wear and rubbing to her body, particularly to the right side. There are also some spots of wear to her dress. Her lovely painted features are in excellent condition. These dolls were purchased together and have been together a long time, so I am selling them together. Please contact me if you have any questions. I do not read more
