This is an original antique inkwell. I cannot tell whether the glass bottom is pressed or cut. It is 2-1/8" square and 1-3/4" tall. The silver top is hinged; as you can see in the picture the top section of the cap looks like thou its been squeezed down over the top lip. Stamped into the edge in very tiny print is either "STERLING" or "STARLINE". I have cleaned the entire inkwell with soapy water; I have NOT made any attempt at polishing the top. This antique inkwell would be a nice asset to add to your collection as well as to your desk. Shipping wt. = 2 lb.
