Antique Victorian cameo set. I believe these cameos date from around the 1860s or so. They are not marked but I tested them with acid on a stone and they test gold, in fact they test up to 22 K. They are set in real pearls and small diamonds. The large cameo measures about 1 1/2 inches high and about 1 1/4 inches wide. The brooch with the two cameos measures about 2 5/8 inches wide. Each cameo is about 7/8 inches high and 3/4 inches wide. All measurements include the jeweled borders. I assume that the two cameo brooch was made from a pair of earrings. Note that the large cameo has a very tiny chip on the raised white border at about the 5 o'clock position. This tiny chip intrudes onto the colored surface a bit. This raised border is about the width of a pencil line. The cameo to the right of the pair of cameos has three of these very tiny chips on the raised line, and the small cameo to the left has a single chip on the raised line at about the 5 o'clock position. These chips are very small and difficult to see without a magnifying glass. I am not sure if these are carved from shell or agate. I am guessing agate as the material looks harder and the backs are smooth compared with the common shell cameos I get frequently.
