Antique green guilloche enamel and brass opera glasses in original velvet case. I believe these are from around the early 1900s. Green enamel over engine turned pattern, mounted in brass with mother of pearl around the lens. I know very little about these glasses and how they work but it looks like the gasket is worn on one of the lens and the focusing wheel does not work (see photo 2). There is a hairline crack in the enamel of one lens and a tiny dark spot in the upper right (see photo 3), also a tiny knick in the mother of pearl on one lens. Measures 3-3/4" long by 1-5/8" high. The velvet pouch seems to be original but is very worn inside and out. Hopefully, in the right hands, these opera glasses can be brought back to their original condition. I try to describe my items to the best of my ability but I can't be an expert on everything. Please ask questions before bidding. Payment must be made within 4 days of auction ending.
