Up for auction is: A unique Piece of a antique Hookah pipe. This is definately antique. The spindle is hand turned with intricate inlay of a silver metal and mother of pearl. It appears that the base of wood is all one piece. The Mother of Pearl inlay is surrounded by wood and silver inlay with dots of brass. Each section is decorated with lines of silver (colored?) metal. None of it is magnetic. It is either pewter, silver or some other alloy. Not sure what. My guess would be nickle silver(?) It is not in perfect condition as t are some dings to the edges of the metal pieces and one considerable fracture, but it is still structurally sound and the wood would refinish very nicely. It measures 9 3/4" long and is 1 15/16" at its widest point. The base is 1 3/32" at the largest and tapers down to 1 1/32" at the smallest. The tip is 5/8" at the largest and tapers down to 7/16". The top inside opening is approximately 1/4". The bottom inside opening is approximately 5/8". The middle inside opening is 11/32". This is a gorgeous and very unique piece of antique tobaccania... the pictures cannot do it justice. It came from an antique store in Oregon, and beyond that I don't have much history on it. It is indeed very old though. This would make an excellent christmas gift, or a lovely addition to your personal collection. IN CLOSING. read more
