The original Folk Artist that hand carved the Calvary Soldiers in this auction mounted them onto a scissor action stand. You can spread them out or bunch them together. Recently picked out of New Hampshire this Folk Art Carving originally had eight carved horses and soldiers. In the first photographs you can see only six. One carving is missing and a second carving is missing the front legs to the horse. (Last photograph.) A third horse is mounted but is missingpart of one leg and the rider is missing an arm. The other five Folk Art Carvings are in good condition with only a few tiny chips. The black paint is the first original paint.
