Antique Hand Forged Iron Threshing Machine Tool Amish We went treasure hunting recently at the “world’s longest yard sale” which is the Route 127 yard sale running from Florida, to now I’m told, all the way up to Michigan. We shopped all down the state of Ohio, and then swung north for a stop at Shipshewana Indiana and some of my favorite spots t You won’t believe some of the finds from this year’s treck! I have some incredible, very old, early 1800s primitives, old signs, rugs, iron, tinware, oil cans, wireware, crockery, lighting fixtures, and even some (of course) what sits, AND, that’s just the tip of the iceberg! I brought my notebook with me, and took wrote down the “story” of the items whenever I could get its history. I’ll be listing these items for a long time, so be sure to check and check and check! This one is so tall, and so thin, I'm sorry it's hard to see in my photos! I purchased this one from the retired farmer outside of Celina Ohio. He told me that he'd actually purchased it at an Ohio Amish auction, though. What I have is an antique, hand forged iron tool that is used when operating a threshing machine. The farmer told me that that the large hook is used to pull shocks of grain off of the wagon into the threshing machine.
