Absolutely beautiful extremely detailed handpainted Limoges Plate. The plate is unmarked, however the shape and decoration is absolutely indicative of typical late 19th century Limoges. As is typical with Limoges of the late 1800s, the blanks were manufactured in Limoges France and brought to the United States and then handpainted by young Asian Art students. Incorporated into this extremely detailed handpainting is "Moriage", or "beaded" finishing touches in the flowers and plate center boarder. (See detail in pictures). Also the 24 carat gold gilding. The plate is an absolute pristine condition with no flaws, or defects, chips, cracks, or fading. The plate measures 12 1/4" long, 5 5/8" across and stands about 1 1/2" deep.
