Now this is what I call unique!! This is circa 1880 or earlier and it is a piece of mother of pearl that has been hand painted with men on horseback fighting. You can see the shimmer of the mop in the sky of this beautiful painting. The mop is then bezel set in silver. Now I don't know if this is sterling, silver plate, ..but I do know it has silver in it because it was jet black when I got it and it came up to a great shine. Notice the wonderful design on the edge. It is in excellent condition and can be used as a trinket box too. It measures 2 1 / 2 inches in diameter. What a treasure.
