Estate Sale Find...Vintage Patchwork Star Quilt Homespun Fabric Hundreds of hand-pieced patchwork pieces in a huge star pattern. This quilt has excellent top stitching and tons of it ! Every single inch of this quilt is hand stitched & quilted including the binding...no machine stitching at all! Each of the four stars measures 35" x 35". Approximately 8-9 quilting stitches per inch. 80" x 80" The little history I do have on this item, is that it was made around 1900 and passed down through the family generation to generation from oldest daughter to oldest daughter...until this last one w the daughter never married or had children. The nephew was disposing of the estate with an estate sale which is w I purchased it. All of that being said it is old and well used. It is threadbare in many places, worn through in others, the batting is flat...although it was probably crafted with a relatively flat bat. T is one large light stain which is pictured, and a few other smaller ones not nearly as noticeable. The quilt is very clean, and free from odors. It is being sold as found. You can see from the picture that it still displays well.
