This is a very nice and all original hand made violin/ fiddle by Georg Beyer of Spenceville, California. The fiddle is named inside with Georg's name and date of 1907. Georg was a California gold miner, farmer, and accomplished fiddler, who lived his entire life in the gold rush towns of Spenceville, Rough and Ready, Grass Valley, and Nevada City. This fiddle is in its original "as found" condition, with its original hand made carrying case. The fiddle and bows are in excellent condition, with no cracks or breaks, with both items needing to be restrung. This fiddle was stained a very attractive cherry red. There are no cracks or chips of any kind of the black material of the violin. There are original tuners, strings, and misc. parts in various compartments. Any reconditioning, oiling, waxing, restringing, will be left up to the new owner. This violin / fiddle measures 8 inches wide x 23 1/2 inches long. It comes in its original black wooden carrying case, lined with a red flannel type material. The carrying case measures 29 inches x 9 1/2 inches x 5 inches deep. This item has been in storage for the last 60 years. There are also early turn of the century catalogs for mandolins, fiddles, banjos, and music that came with this fiddle.
