THIS IS A RARE ANTIQUE "JOHN C. HAYNES" PICCOLO MADE IN BOSTON MASS IN THE 1900'S. IT IS MARKED ON ALL THREE SECTIONS JOHN C. HAYNES & CO. BOSTON. IT IS STAMPED GERMAN SILVER. I HAVE INCLUDED A LOT OF PICTURES TO SHOW ITS INCREDIBLE CONDITION! THIS MEASURES 15" LONG INCLUDING THE IVORY MOUTH PIECE. After attending the public schools of Boston, he began his life-long association with Oliver Ditson as a fifteen-year old office boy earning $1.50 per week. In 1852, he received an interest in the business and in 1857 became a co-partner. In 1861, Oliver Ditson and Company established its branch for instrument manufacturing and repair under the name of John C. Haynes & Co., with John Haynes as manager. After Oliver Ditson died on 21 December 1888, the parent firm dissolved, whereupon a corporation called the “Oliver Ditson Company” was formed with John C. Haynes as president and general manager.
