A BEAUTIFUL RARE AND ALL ORIGINAL FULLY HALL MARKED MANS LARGE 1923 SOLID GOLD WALTHAM ENGLISH DENNISON CASED FULL HUNTER CASED POCKET WATCH WATCH WITH AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING WHITE DIAL. HOUSING THE VERY RARE âe~MARQUISâe(tm) MOVEMENT AND COMPLETE WITH ITS 100% ORIGINAL BOX. CASE: This is a beautiful MANS SIZE stunning solid 9k (ct UK) watch case. The case shines superbly after a light polish. The case back has some noticeable slight dings front and back, and just a few light and slight scratches. The decoratively engraved personalization on the case looks to have the initials M.O but because they are so ornately engraved they are difficult to make out. The case is in absolutely lovely condition, and has a beautiful golden hue to it that only solid gold can give. The case measures a large 5.2cms (52mm) In diameter excluding the crown. The front and rear opening cover hinges have had a slight repair, but open and close well with only very slight play in them. The inside of the case and the solid gold dust cover are both hall marked for solid GOLD, dating the watch to 1923 and fully signed by the renowned case maker "DENNISONS" (ALD) of London. The dustcover is superb and has a personalisation (see pics) The watch weighs 107.8 grams including the movement, that is a lot of gold value! DIAL: This is an absolutely stunning and near mint snow-white dial signed "W.M.GREENWOOD AND SONS LEEDS AND HUDDERSFIELD" and âe~Waltham Mass USAâe(tm). It has a lovely sub second dial which is in mint condition. The blued steel hands are also in excellent order. It has black hand painted roman numerals which are in excellent condition with no wear whatsoever evident to the numerals which are majestically crisp and very sharp. The outer black hand painted minute track is also in minty condition. The dial itself is absolutely beautiful, with NO cracks or hairlines that I can see. This is a really lovely and brilliant white dial in excellent order. The crystal looks like new, and is unmarked and has no major wear evident to the eye. Pocket watches with this standard of dial are very rare to find!! MOVEMENT: This is A PRISTINE and absolutely superb fully signed 15 jeweled RARE gilt movement. It is signed âe~MARQUIS WALTHAM MASS 15 JEWELSâe(tm). The movement number is 217xxxxx. The watch winds and sets with the crown, which is 100% original and is solid gold. The crown and the chain ring are solid gold and hall marked for the same. The watch runs very well. It keeps very good time, as tested over a 12 hour period, but as always a service would be recommended for optimum performance. BOX: This stunning WALTHAM pocket watch is made complete with its 100% original carrying box. The box is hard cased with decorative gilded edges on the outside, and has a black velvet interior, and watch holder. The watch fits perfectly, and to guarantee its authenticity it is fully signed with the supplying jewelers name and address, which matches the dial writing. The box is in good condition, with just slight outside wear. The hinge is in excellent operating order. This is one of the lovliest solid GOLD Waltham pocket watches that I have had.
