Hertel, Schwab & Co. Character Baby Doll Description: Here's a happy character baby by Hertel, Schwab & Company! The Hertel Schwab babies are among my favorite German bisque dolls from the early 1900s ... they all have such carefree, cheerful expressions! This is an "open dome" 152 mold Hertel Schwab (I also have a closed-dome 151 mold Hertel Schwab up on auction this week). She features a bisque socket head with blue glass sleep eyes and an open mouth with 2 upper teeth and separately molded composition tonque; and chubby cheeks with dimples and double chin. Five piece composition baby body. Back of her head is marked "Made in Germany 152 4". Wearing a new high quality wig (it looks a mess in the photos, sorry, I'm simply not good at combing and styling doll wigs!); vintage baby dress with red piping; slip and diaper. Dimensions: Measures 12 1/2" tall . Condition: Bisque head is excellent with no chips, cracks, or hairlines. Body is complete and original but has a lot of wear to the finish, especially on the hands (all the ends of the fingers are chipped nad worn), and the ends of the toes.
