The compiler was responsible for the extensive compilation of biographical sketches at the end of the book. Book is in sound shape for a volume of this antiquity and construction. Some moderately well worn even wear. Binding appears to be holding well. Some pages have a limited bit of underlying in pen or pencil under some names or other references. Also an occassional annotion in pencil is noted. These findings are not extensive, but they are present and noted for completeness. Of note, there is a nasty abrasion of the cloth on the upper left hand side of the front hard cover as can be seen in the photos. Overall, a scarce book in presentable condition.Although this volume is a history of the town of Delano it is, perhaps, most notable for the extensive material contained on the history of the Lehigh Valley Railroad. The town and its people were intimately involved in the operations of the LVRR and there is extensive material including vintage photos as well as biographical sketches of Lehigh residents who functioned as engineers, mechanics and conductors in that railroad system. Train station views and support building for the railroad are also shown. In short, this read more
