This is an old kitchen 'hoosier' type cupboard. It runs more to the primitive side of the spectrum. I have owned it for over 20 years and have used it in a variety of rooms as an accent piece and even a desk at one point. (Although with the drawer under the table surface, I needed a shorter chair.) The wood is maple I believe, but the surface on the 'desktop' is rough as if it was used as a cutting/work table. Perhaps it had a tin cover at one point. It is a lighter finish as you can see in the pictures, but the top of the desk top is unfinished. It measures 4 feet wide and 27 inches deep. It stands 57 inches tall and is in two sections. The top drawers and cabinets latch solidly. The bottom drawer is a file drawer size, but t is about a 1/2 inch gap in the front bottom drawer. The second drawer down has rivets or some other type of metal repair across it, but I purchased it this way and thought it added to the charm. All of the handles and closings seem original.I have simply run out of room for this lovely piece of furniture. It will need to be picked up or have shipping arranged.
