Hi I am Steve Pfeiffer, author of the book Collecting Case Knives - Identification and Price Guide , published by Krause Publications. I have been collecting Case and other brands of antique pocket Knives since 1973. I am offering some fine collectible pocket knives for sale. This auction is for a very desirable antique "Cattle" pattern pocket knife. This knife was made by the Imperial Knife Company of Providence, Rhode Island circa 1920's to 1940's. It is a military contract knife made for US Army Air Corps pilots during WWII. IMPERIAL PROV RI, circa 1920's to 1940's. 3-5/8" closed length. Classic cattle knife, all three blades with super strong snap. The main spear blade and the pen blade appear to have never been used or sharpened. There are a few minor spots and specks and patina on the original factory mirror finish. The sheepfoot blade has been sharpened and shows a tiny bit of blade loss with patina. The nice light tan and brown jigged bone handles have no pocket wear with one visible pin crack at the lower main backspring pin on the front. Iron bolsters, brass pins, and brass liners. A great old carbon steel knife - great everyday user knife!!
