Antique India SUPERB SHRINE BRONZE KANDHOBA SHIVA RIDER size 13 cm ANTIQUE, AUTHENTIC AND USED SUPERB RITUALLY USED BRONZE KANDHOBA SHIVA RIDER from India. These Ritual Shrine Figures have been used by the Hinduistic Rural Village population of India as votive and offering items inside their house shrines or village temples. They frequently worshipped and sacrificed them during local puja ceremonies and rites. This fine aesthetic RITUAL SHRINE FIGURE consists of good quality bronze and shows a very nice shaped horse standing on a base and with elongated legs and surface decoration. The riderdepicts warrior like male kandhoba figure with headgear and holding a sword as well his female consort, obviously Mahalsa. Kandhoba, a local manifestation of Shiva, is worshipped as a kind of ancient village hero. Fine smooth darkened age patina. Condition: excellent aged condition, no damage, very good smooth dark age patina , very good signs of age and use. Age: early 19th century. ANTIQUE AND USED !!! Size: Height 14.3 cm. .
