ANTIQUE NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN CHIEF CIGAR STORE WALL HANGINGcirca 1930's Tobacco ChalkwareFor your consideration is this Fabulous Large Old Antique Cigar Store Plaster Chalkware Wall Plaque circa 1930's. The plaque shows the profile of a Stoic Native American Indian or Chief with a wonderful feather headdress. The plaque is made of a plaster of paris and would have likely been displayed on the wall of a tobacco store and used for tobacco and cigarette advertising. The quality in Craftsmanship and Painting is Superb with detail down to the facial contours, shading and coloring. This is one of the most beautiful pieces of chalkware I have ever seen with detail and vibrant colors throughout.Never restored and great vintage piece! This plaque has great aged patina and Vibrant colors. It is in very good condition for its age with just a few minor paint chips (see photos) and one chip of plaster on one the 9 headdress feathers and another on the nose. As seen in many of these plaster antiques . No cracks or breaks found and comes with the original metal loop for hanging. The loop was put in the plaster when it was poured and most of the time these get broken off over the years. A fabulous, unique and rare piece to display and/or add to a collection! Please refer to the photos for further details, as they are part of the description.
