~ ANTIQUE IRISH CROCHET LACE DRESS ORNAMENT COLLAR WEDDING SHAWL - 12 inches DEEP ~. ITEM DESCRIPTION A large dress ornament from a collection of antique linen and lace. Irish crochet, currently a mid ivory / cream colour. Gently scalloped at the lower edge with a more 'open' flowers and crochet net pattern towards the upper edge. Made as one complete piece of lace with finished edges on all sides. As found, with a degree of age related discolouration ( this will lighten in colour with a gentle soak ). There are stray / unfinished threads where the flowers have been shaped - visible in the pictures. Bidders should note that as with most antique lace - there may be the odd rust spot, loose thread or broken bride. It measures about 12 inches deep and 66 inches long. .....
