ANTIQUE ITALIAN ROCOCO HAND PAINTED WOOD? MIRROR-SHABBY CHIC Purchased in France many years ago. 1900's Italian Rococo Mirror. The backing leading to the intricate raised scroll work on the front is a light wood. I am not certain if the front raised scroll-work itself is also carved wood or perhaps some plaster laid on top. The whole mirror is finished with gold gild and completely hand painted. The top has a peaceful setting of a country home & bridge, and then flowers and foliage on the sides and bottom. The overall condition of this mirror is very good. Some nicks, dings a couple of hairline cracks (see photo #5) to the mirror frame, but only adds to the charm & beauty of this Italian mirror. The actual 'mirror' could use replacement, unless you're going for a "Shabby Chic" effect.
