ANTIQUE IVORY BAKELITE GPO 162 DIAL PYRAMID TELEPHONE This telephone is in full working order and has been converted to PST (plug and socket technology) for immediate use with today's networks. Please ensure that your telephone line provider is able to support pulse dialling. This telephone was manufactured in 1934 by Plessey, it base is marked "GPO PL34 234 No 162". It is supplied together with a genuine GPO No. 64d bellset (photograph # 8) which has been overhauled recently (and also at the GPO factory in Cwncarn, South Wales, in 1975). This is a beautiful telephone which has received some attention to bring it back up to perfect working order. It is fitted with a superb, genuine, extra-long handset cord. The telephone has an alpha-numeric "director" chrome dial with a reproduction label. The dial runs and returns smoothly and with a lovely whirring action. The baseplate contains its original lead weight, replete with circuit diagram. The feet are in remarkably good condition for their age (probably original). The handset is a later replacement, it is marked "164 60", so it dates from 1960. This is a genuine GPO part, which includes a no. 18 ear cap.
